Silvestre Asebedo Jr, known affectionately to many as "Silver" or "Junior", drew his last breath on November 27, 2023, leaving behind a life marked by adventure and love. Born on March 1, 1964, in Edinburg, Texas, Silvestre was a force of life who filled every room with his infectious energy and laughter. He was a man who carried his faith close to his heart, often reminded of the verse from Philippians 4: 13, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”\n\nSilvestre's adventurous spirit was evident in his life, from his love of traveling to his talent for pole vaulting in which he competed at the state level and earned an athletic scholarship. His charisma endeared him to everyone he met, and he was never one to shy away from a good football match, especially if the Redskins were playing. As a loving, single father, Silvestre's greatest joy and what mattered most to him was his daughter, Julianna.\n\nSilvestre is survived by his treasured daughter, Julianna, and his devoted sisters, Norma Garza (Ralph), Neva Jimenez (Jessie), and Nora Cerda (Javier). He was preceded in death by his parents, Silvestre Sr and Rebecca Asebedo. His family invites you to remember Silvestre's life on Friday, December 1, 2023. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am CST at the Brown Family Funeral Home in Mission, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 pm CST. Silvestre will be laid to rest at San Jose Cemetery at 3:00 pm CST.\n\nIn celebration of Silver's captivating and memorable life, we encourage friends and family to share their favorite memories, anecdotes, and photos on Silvestre's memorial page. His spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, and in the stories we share, he will remain forever with us.
