MISSION - Our mother, Rosa (Nena) Ortega passed away peacefully at Mission Nursing and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by all her loved ones. She will be remembered for her love for fashion, generosity, her unfailing work ethics, her love of dancing, and most important the love for her family and the Lord. She had just recently celebrated her 98th birthday. \n Rosa Ortega was born in Nuevo Laredo Mexico, but lived most of her life in Los Angeles, California where she was often referred to as the Movie Star. She worked for Alpha Beta/ Albertson Company for thirty-five years. After her retirement she moved to Mission, Texas to be close to family members. \n She is survived by her three children, Humberto (Bert) Lozano (Maggie), Ismael (Mel)Lozano (Mary), Louie Lozano (Katie); 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren; her sister, Alicia Perez (Procopio); her brothers, Ramiro Ramirez (Emma), Reymundo Ramirez (Belia); also numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leopoldo and Cecilia Ramirez, her brothers and sister, Leopoldo Ramirez Jr., Reynaldo Ramirez, Ruben Ramirez, Rogelio Ramirez, and Olivia Trevino and her grandson, Humberto Lozano Jr. Pallbearers will be Ricky Lozano, Orlando Lozano, Reymundo Ramirez Jr., Carlos Perez, Ramiro Ramirez Jr., Jose Antonio Gomez Jr. \n Visitations will be held Monday, July 22nd at Ric Brown Funeral Home from 4 pm to 9 pm with a rosary at 7 pm. Burial will take place Tuesday, July 23rd, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Mission at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at San Jose Cemetery in Mission. Funeral Services are under the direction of Ric Brown Family Funeral Home. \n We would like to give our sincere appreciation to the staff at the Mission Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Mission and to her physician Dr. Nelson Kalaf.
