Our beloved husband and father, Reymundo Ramirez Sr., went to be with our Lord on June 28, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. Reymundo was born on April 16,1943 in Mission, Texas to the late Cecilia Garza Ramirez and Leoplodo Ramirez. He is a 1963 graduate of Mission High School where he excelled in both football and track, and was given the nickname “Bullet.” Upon graduation, Reymundo enlisted in the United States Army and attended Jump School in Fort Benning, G.A., where he earned his jump wings. He subsequently attended Special Forces training where he earned the Green Beret. In 1976, Reymundo graduated from the United States Border Patrol Academy, and served as a supervisory Border Patrol Agent for 28 years, until his retirement in 2000. He fully enjoyed the next chapter of his life by spending time with his family and beloved grandchildren. He especially loved watching “Los Cowboys” and the New York Yankees. Those who knew him well will remember him as always cracking jokes and throwing his voice to make people laugh. He took great pride in attending his grandchildren’s events and he instilled the importance of hard work and family. He was a great listener and taught his family the importance of integrity. He will be deeply missed by all that had the privilege of meeting him. He is preceded in death by his siblings, Ruben Ramirez, Rogelio Ramirez, Reynaldo Ramirez, Olivia Trevino, Leopoldo Ramirez Jr., and Rosa Ortega He is survived by the love of his life of 54 years, Belia Ramirez, sons Reymundo Ramirez Jr., Rafael Ramirez Sr. (Ivonne), 2 daughters Ruby C. Madrigal (Ricardo), Clarissa Gomez (Senon), and daughter-in-law Patricia Salinas. He is also survived by his siblings Ramiro Ramirez Sr., Alicia Perez and his pride and joy of 8 grandsons and 1 granddaughter. Visitation will be held at 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at Ric Brown Family Funeral Home Chapel in Mission with a celebration of life to be held at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, July 7, 2022 at Palm Valley Church, 1720 E. Griffin Pkwy, Mission, TX with burial to follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery.
