Rene Herrera Betancourt

Rene Herrera, age 82, passed away peacefully at his home in San Juan, Texas, on October 15, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 16, 1943, in General Teran Nuevo Leon, Mexico to Nazarita and Roberto Herrera.

He is survived by his beloved wife Juanita Herrera, and their daughter Perla Herrera, and his stepchildren Ana Karen Acosta, Luis Angel Acosta. Along with his step grandchildren Victoria Acosta and Natalia Acosta. He is also lovingly remembered by his former wife, Elva Herrera, and their children Ruben (Cindy) Herrera, Orlando Herrera, Rene (Vanessa) Herrera, Omar Herrera, Robert (Nora) Herrera, Rosy (Pete) Garza, Yoli (Joe) Ruiz. Along with his ten grandchildren Randy Herrera, Ricco Herrera, Joanna Herrera, Janae Herrera, Jared Herrera, Isaac Herrera, Alexis Garza, Michael Herrera, Maeghan Herrera, Alyssa Garza. And one great grandchild Maybus Herrera.

Rene is also lovingly remembered by his surviving siblings Adelina Salazar, Leonor H. Elizondo, Romelia Hinojosa, and half siblings Roberto (Chacho) Herrera, Bertha Herrera Golston, Hortencia (Muñe) Herrera, Norma Herrera, Lorena Hernandez, Iliana Herrera. He is preceded in death by his parents, and siblings Roy Herrera and Ruben Herrera.

Rene Herrera was a man of faith whose hope was anchored in Jehovah's promise at John 5:28, 29 -"Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out."

René Herrera, de 82 años, falleció pacíficamente en su hogar en San Juan, Texas, el 15 de octubre de 2026, rodeado de su querida familia. Nació el 16 de diciembre de 1943 en General Terán, Nuevo León, México, hijo de Nazarita y Roberto Herrera.

Le sobreviven su amada esposa, Juanita Herrera, y su hija, Perla Herrera; así como sus hijastros, Ana Karen Acosta y Luis Angel Acosta, y sus nietastras, Victoria Acosta y Natalia Acosta. También lo recuerdan con cariño su anterior esposa, Elva Herrera, y los hijos de ambos: Ruben (Cindy) Herrera, Orlando Herrera, Rene (Vanessa) Herrera, Omar Herrera, Robert (Nora) Herrera, Rosy (Pete) Garza y Yoli (Joe) Ruiz. Asimismo, lo recuerdan sus diez nietos: Randy Herrera, Ricco Herrera, Joanna Herrera, Janae Herrera, Jared Herrera, Isaac Herrera, Alexis Garza, Michael Herrera, Maeghan Herrera y Alyssa Garza; y su bisnieta, Maybus Herrera.

También lo recuerdan con cariño sus hermanas sobrevivientes, Adelina Salazar, Leonor H. Elizondo y Romelia Hinojosa; y sus medio hermanos, Roberto (Chacho) Herrera, Bertha Herrera Golston, Hortencia (Muñe) Herrera, Norma Herrera, Lorena Hernandez e Iliana Herrera.
