Ramiro C. Garza, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great- grandfather, passed away on September 22, 2023. He was 90 years old.\n\nBorn on September 13, 1933, in Granjeno, TX, Ramiro built a life filled with love, joy, and countless cherished memories. He was the devoted husband of Elodia Alonzo Garza for 70 years and the proud father of nine children: Norma Santos Sanchez (Miguel Angel), Ramiro Garza Jr (Rosario), Mardy Guerra (Frank), Pearl Garza (Trinidad Zepeda), Rosie Martinez (Arnold), Olga Garza (Juan), Roel Garza (Cynthia), Sandy Serna (Eduardo), and Ralph Garza (Grace).\n\nHe is preceded in death by his Father, Juan Garza, Mother, Isidra C. Garza and three brothers Carlos Garza, Amancio Garza, and Jose Garza.\n\nRamiro adored his numerous grandchildren and was excited that his family had grown over the years to include many great-grandchildren, and even great-great-grandchildren. His family was his greatest source of happiness and pride. \n\nRamiro held many professional jobs as a truck driver and welder while also maintaining his entrepreneurial spirit working for himself in these areas. Among the professional jobs that he held he was most proud of being a bus driver for McAllen ISD where he retired after 30 years of service.\n\nBeyond his professional endeavors, Ramiro had a zest for life and a diverse range of interests. He reveled in watching old movies, listening to music, and finding delight in seeing his family grow and attending the events of his children and grandchildren. He loved to travel, play his guitar, frequent his favorite restaurants, and go for drives in his cars. He had a genuine love for nature and caring for animals- especially his pet dogs, cats, horses and various farm animals. Ramiro was quintessentially dapper. You could always count on him to be well dressed and stylish. He instilled in his family the importance and value of a strong work ethic, pursuing education and putting family and God at the core. \n\nRamiro C. Garza touched the lives of many through his kindness, loyalty, and unwavering love. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
