Otoniel Pena Obituary (1971 - 2024)

Otoniel Pena, 52, of Edinburg, TX passed away May 23, 2024 in Edinburg, TX. He was born on October 15, 1971 in Holland, Michigan to the late Angelita and Prajediz Pena. Otoniel Pena was a man of true integrity that loved with his whole heart and entire being. He loved his family, trips, the Spurs, the Dallas Cowboys, his job, his 80s music, and instigating comment wars on Facebook...but mostly he loved his "Little Mijo" his son Dominick. He was so proud of his little boy. Otoniel was adored by many, but not more than by his wife of 18 years, Cindy. He will be dearly missed. He is also preceded in death by a sister San Juanita Pena; a sister in law Yolanda Pena; and a brother in law Armando Gonzalez. Otoniel is survived by his loving and devoted wife Cynthia Ann Pena; left to carry on his legacy is his son Dominick Daniel Pena; will be missed by his siblings Rosbel (Imelda) Pena, Guadalupe Pena, Clemencia (Jorge) Galaviz, Melva Gonzalez, Graciela (Carlos) Iniguez and Oralia (Reyes) Hernandez ; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at Brown Family Funeral Home, 701 E. Interstate 2 in Mission with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with burial to follow at Valley Memorial Garden. Death is nothing at all. It does not count. I have only slipped away into the next room. Nothing has happened. Everything remains the same. I am I, and you are you, and the old life that we So fondly lived together is untouched, unchanged. Whatever We were to each other, that we Are still. Call me by my old familiar name. Speak of me in the easy way you often did. Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow. Laugh as We Always laughed. Our little jokes- and the things we enjoyed together. Play, smile, think of me…pray for Me. Let my name be ever in our household. Let it be spoken without effort. Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was. There is absolute and unbroken continuity. What is death but a negligible accident? Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
