Margarita Ramirez Borrego

Margarita Ramirez Borrego, 79, of Edinburg, TX passed away Saturday, October 7, 2023. She was born on October 31, 1943 in Mission, TX to the late Santos Ramirez and Virginia Munoz Ramirez. Margarita was a school teacher for many years and held numerous degrees including a Masters in education.
She is preceded in death by her husband and her siblings Roberto Ramirez, Santos Ramirez, Alicia Ramirez and Carmen Ramirez. Survivors include her daughter and sons Blas Borrego, III, Rene (Sandy) Borrego and Debra (Gary) Nielsen; her five grandchildren Brandon Borrego, Rene Borrego, Jr., Ryan Borrego, Derek Nielsen and Jessica Nielsen; and her siblings Richard (Inez) Ramirez, Estella (Steven) Archer, Rosie (Alfredo) Espinoza and Sylvia (Olivero) Garza; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
The family would like to thank Margarita Robles, her caring caregiver and friend of many years. A heartfelt thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at DHR health hospice for all their care.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. at Brown Family Funeral Home, 701 E. Expressway 83, Mission, TX with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial of cremains will take place on Friday, October 13, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Mission, TX.
