It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Leonel "Nune" Gonzalez Jr., a beloved father, son, and brother. He was a humble man, reliable in every sense of the word, whose presence enriched the lives of all who knew him. Nune was born on August 28, 1964, in Hereford, Texas, and departed from us far too soon on November 23, 2023.\n\nLeonel was a man of faith, a dedicated member of the San Jose Catholic Church, whose devotion to prayer guided his journey through life. He was a witty and intelligent man, known for his impressive memory and his enthusiasm for sport statistics. His career as an inspector at the USDA was marked by hard work and diligence, but Leonel was more than his occupation. To his family, he was their “quiet giant”, a man who found joy in life’s simple pleasures. His quick wit and kindness will be long remembered, but it was his love for his family that truly defined him. Leonel's family will always carry his memory in their hearts, remembering the love he shared and the happiness he brought.\n\nNune is survived by his children, Leonel (Sara) Gonzalez III of Mission, Tx, Adriel Gonzalez of San Antonio, Tx, and Danielle (Johnny) Gonzalez of Dumas, TX.and two beautiful granddaughters Myrina and Kailee.
