Mission - Joe was a Vietnam veteran and was honorably discharged from the USAF. He enjoyed working for his brother Oscar as a legal assistant and established his own business representing clients with the SSA for over 30 years. Joe enjoyed visiting friends, being out and about and was of course a devoted fan of the Cowboys. \n \n Joe is preceded in death by his parents Juan B. Alvarez and Guadalupe Alvarado Alvarez and brother Eduardo Alvarez. He is survived by his wife Maria Alvarez, ex-wife Zorayda V. Alvarez, siblings Juan Alvarez Jr., Libby Alvarez-Pena, Oscar Alvarez, Thelma Alvarez-Olvera, sons Reynaldo Luis Alvarez, Raymundo Alvarez, Luis Esteban Alvarez, Luis Gabriel Alvarez, stepdaughter Iris Irasema, and numerous nieces and nephews and grandchildren. \n \n A viewing will be held on Thursday, October 22, at Ric Brown of Mission with a Rosary at 7pm. Interment will follow at the Rio Grande Valley Veterans Cemetery in Mission at a future date.
