Jorge Guerra, 61, passed away from this life peacefully Thursday, September 7th, 2023, in McAllen, Texas surrounded by the company of family and friends. Jorge was born at McAllen Municipal Hospital on March 29th, 1962. Jorge attended Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic School and was a boy scout. He was a baseball and football star in Jr. High as well as an excellent swimmer and lifeguard. Jorge Guerra was a loving and devoted father, husband, brother, and son. Since the age of 13, his passion was riding his numerous Harley Davidson motorcycles, where he felt the freest. He worked alongside his wife, Bertha, as a commercial truck driver. He traveled throughout the United States, Mexico, and went on innumerable cruises with his wife and family to various tropical destinations. Jorge was very generous and loving to everyone he met. Jorge was a proud member of the Calaveras motorcycle club, which was a second family to him.\nJorge was preceded in death by his parents Ildefonso Guerra Sr. and Maria M. Guerra. His late wife Bertha Alicia Guerra, daughter Dalila Garcia, and his niece Krystal Herrera. He is survived by his daughter Mariana Guerra, sons Jorge Lauro Guerra, Jake Guerra, three other sons, several grandchildren, and brother Ildefonso (Maria Luisa) Guerra Jr.\nViewing will be held on Monday, September 11, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. at Ric Brown Family Funeral Home, 621 E. Griffin Parkway, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Mission, Tx with burial to follow at Valley Memorial Gardens.\nHonored to serve as pallbearers will be Jorge Lauro Guerra, Jake Guerra, Daniel Morales, Nicholas Morales, Khristian Cortinas, and David Zapata. Honorary Pallbearers will be Pete Villarreal III, Roberto Lopez, Javier Ortiz, Mario Ruiz, Ruben Cantu, and VP Trevino.\nThe family of Jorge Guerra wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the entire staff of McAllen Regional Hospital, Dr. Luis Segura, Nurse Axa, Ric Brown Family Funeral Staff, Mila Villareal, and the Calaveras our black and grey family.
