Gregory Michael Kuczmanski Obituary (1949 - 2022)

Rev. Gregory Michael Kuczmanski passed away peacefully on November 2, 2022. Fr. Greg was born to Ervin and Evelyn (Binkowski) Kuczmanski on May 24, 1949 in South Bend, IN. He is survived by his siblings: Marion (Becky) Kuczmanski of Granger, IN, Laurianna (Harold ƚ) Ullery of South Bend, IN, and Kenneth (Joyce) Kuczmanski of Noblesville, IN, two nephews Wesley and Kyle Kuczmanski, and three nieces Melissa and Cassandra Kuczmanski, and Annamarie (Switatski) Weddell. Fr. Greg was ordained as a priest on May 24, 1975 in South Bend, IN at St. Adalbert’s Catholic Church by Bishop John Fitzpatrick. He then served the Diocese of Brownsville as a priest for 47 years, including the parishes of: St. Margaret Mary (Pharr), St. Joseph the Worker (McAllen), Our Lady of Sorrows (McAllen), San Martin de Porres (Mission), St. Luke (Brownsville), St. Theresa of the Infant Jesus (Edcouch), and St. Paul (Mission). After his retirement in 2017 he continued to serve when he was able, including most recently St. Joseph in Edinburg. Fr. Greg was a strong supporter of Catholic Education and served on the Board of Trustees of Juan Diego Academy for many years. He had many great loves: Notre Dame, Chicago Cubs and Bears, golfing, a good meal and a good laugh. His faithful walk with the Lord inspired many and will always be remembered. All funeral arrangements for Fr. Greg Kuczmanski will take place at St. Paul Catholic Church, located at 1111 Francisco, Mission. Arrangements are as follows: Viewing will be held Monday, November 7, 2022, from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm. The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. The Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at 10:00 am followed by his burial at Valley Memorial Gardens, 3605 N. Taylor Road, McAllen, Texas.
