In Loving Memory of Graciela Vela de Lozano
Graciela Vela de Lozano, age 77, passed away on September 20, 2026. She was born on December 14, 1948, in General Treviño, Nuevo León, Mexico, to Elvira De Leon de Vela and Romulo Vela.
Graciela’s life was marked by her devotion to education, her family, and the communities she called home. She spent approximately 20 years of her life in Monclova, Coahuila, where she built a life filled with meaningful relationships and treasured memories. She later moved to Monterrey, Nuevo León, beginning another important chapter in her life. Eventually, her journey brought her to the Rio Grande Valley in Texas, where she spent her retirement years surrounded by the family she loved so much.
Above all, Graciela’s greatest joy and most cherished role was being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a devoted wife to her beloved husband, Librado Lozano, and a loving and caring mother to her three children, Jorge, Cecilia (Ramiro), and Sheila (Sergio). She was the heart of her family, always offering unconditional love, guidance, encouragement, and support.
Graciela leaves behind a beautiful legacy through her husband, her three children, six grandchildren, one great-grandchild, extended family, former students, and friends. While her presence will be deeply missed, the lessons she taught, the memories she created, and the love she gave so generously will continue to live through generations of her family.
Her life was a journey filled with purpose, teaching, family, and love. She was a devoted wife, an extraordinary mother, a cherished grandmother and great-grandmother, and a dedicated teacher. Her family was her greatest treasure, and her love will remain in their hearts forever.
