Gloria Concepcion Escobar

–

Mission, Texas

Gloria Concepcion Escobar, beloved educator, devoted Catholic, and cherished sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 13th after a life dedicated to faith, family, education, and service.

Born on December 28, 1934, in Escobares, Texas, Gloria was the daughter of Esteban Escobar and Luisa Martinez Escobar. She was raised with strong values of faith, hard work, and compassion that guided her throughout her life.

Gloria dedicated many years to educating young minds as a teacher with Mission Consolidated Independent School District. She was respected by colleagues and loved by her students for her patience, kindness, and commitment to helping others learn and grow.

Her devotion to her Catholic faith was evident in her lifelong service to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, where she served as a CCD teacher, member of the choir, and an active member of the Hijas de Maria. Through her ministry and example, she helped nurture the faith of countless children and families within her parish community.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Esteban and Luisa Escobar; her brothers, Esteban Escobar Jr., Jorge Javier Escobar, and Luis Mario Escobar, brother-in-law, Justo S. Gonzalez and sisters-in-law, Urbana Escobar and Sobeyda Escobar.
She is survived by her loving sisters, Maria Otila Escobar and Sila Gonzalez, and sister-in-law, Hilda C. Escobar as well as her many nieces, nephews, cousins, former students, fellow parishioners, and dear friends whose lives were enriched by her love, guidance, and generosity.

Gloria's life was marked by quiet strength, unwavering faith, and a heart devoted to serving others. She leaves behind a lasting legacy of kindness, education, and Christian service. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

On behalf of our family, we would also like to express our deepest gratitude and appreciation to the wonderful staff at Windsor Arbor View Skilled Nursing Facility. During Gloria's time there, they cared for her with compassion, patience, dignity, and kindness. Their support extended not only to Gloria but also to our family members who remained by her side. Their comforting presence, understanding, and dedication brought us peace during a very difficult time, and we will always be grateful for the exceptional care they provided.

We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the caregivers who lovingly cared for Gloria in her home: Ms. Juana, Ms. Roberta, Ms. Irasema, Ms. Queta, Ms. Angie, and Ms. Francis, and Ms. Magda. Each of them gave Gloria their undivided attention, treating her with extraordinary care, respect, tenderness, and love. They became much more than caregivers; they became trusted companions and a source of comfort for both Gloria and the family. Their devotion allowed Gloria to remain surrounded by warmth, familiarity, and compassion, and for that the family will be forever thankful.

To all who cared for Gloria throughout her journey, please know that your kindness made a lasting difference in her life and in ours. We are deeply grateful for the love and support you showed her every day.
