George Roel Speedon Sr. “Don Jorge” went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 7, 2021 in McAllen, Texas. He was born January 10, 1951 in Cotulla, Texas, he is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Jose Luis Speedon and Onodelia Tijerina. George is survived by his loving wife, Delfina Ponce Speedon and caring children; Yecenia Olivia Cuellar (Alfredo), Mayra Speedon (Miguel), George Roel Speedon Jr. Also, by his adoring grandchildren; Izaak Oliver Arce (Nellie), Ramon Arcelll (Ivett), Valeria Zanely Gallardo, Lissete Arce (Jordan), George Anthony Speedon, George F. Morales, George Roel Speedon III, Letty Hilgert, and Carmen Hilgert and Great granddaughter, Danica Maxine Arce. Followed by numerous nieces and nephews. George will be dearly missed by all his close family and friends who loved him. He loved going to the beach with his family and visiting with his friends at the daycare. The family would like to express their gratitude for the phone calls and expressions of love, care and concern, the fond memories and condolences will be cherished forever. \n \n The visitation will be held on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at Ric Brown Family Funeral Home, 621 East Griffin Parkway Mission, TX 78574 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. The mass of the resurrection will he held on Monday, May 17, 2021 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 620 N Dunlap Ave Mission, TX 78572 at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at La Piedad Cemetery, 1801 Wichita Ave McAllen, TX 78503.
