On Friday December 15th, Francisco Javier Martinez, 64, of McAllen, Texas went to be with the Lord. After a short illness, Francisco passed away at Rio Grande Regional Hospital surrounded by his loved ones.\n\nFrancisco grew up a member of Sacred Heart Church where he was an altar boy. He was also a graduate of McAllen High School and lived the majority of his life in McAllen. An avid fan of Tejano music, dancing, gardening, cooking, and his Dallas Cowboys. He was bigger than life and loved to make an entrance. He was someone who always made an effort to greet everyone, and nothing made him happier than to bring joy to those around him. The sound of his boisterous laugh will be sadly missed along with a smile that could warm your heart.\n\nFrancisco was preceded in death by his mother, Maria del Socorro Martinez and younger brother Jose Juan Martinez and niece Claudia Martinez. He is survived by his wife Norma Garza and son Luis, his brothers, and sisters: Miguel Martinez (Hilda), Alfonso Martinez (Sofia), Gabriel Martinez, Ernesto Martinez, Gerardo Martinez (Anita), Teresa Martinez (Martha), Socorro Martinez and David Martinez and numerous nieces and nephews. As well as his best friends Carlitos and Roel. \n\nLocal services will be held at Brown Family Funeral Home, 701 E Expressway 83, Mission Texas. Viewing will begin Tuesday, December 19th at 4 pm to 9 pm with a Rosary at 7 pm. Additional viewing will be held on Wednesday, December 20th from 8 am until 12 pm. Afterwards there will be a procession leading towards Sacred Heart Catholic Church, \n306 South 15th Street, McAllen Texas where a mass will be held at 1 pm. There will be a funeral procession at 2:00 pm towards his final resting place at Roselawn Cemetery\n1201 South Main Street, McAllen Texas.
