Evelyn Elizabeth Kotara

–

Frisco, Texas

Evelyn Kotara, 93 years old, passed away at home, on July 6, 2023. Beloved wife of the late Albert Kotara for 58 years before his death in 2007, together, they walked hand-in-hand while farming in McCook, Texas. Evelyn always referred to herself as a “farmer’s wife” and she loved every minute of it.

Upon graduation from Edinburg High School, she worked as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell and then in the 1970’s for a McAllen bank, for several years. In between, she was a devoted wife and mother who helped her husband on the farm while raising their two children. Evelyn was an active member of Immaculate Conception Church in McCook and was involved in many church activities, including the Parish Board and Altar Society. After living 80 years of her life in McCook, she moved to Frisco, Texas, in 2012 to be near immediate family. She loved living at Parkview in Frisco, an independent retirement community, and made many friends in this final chapter of her life. Her positive attitude and great love for her family and faith were always evident and an inspiration to everyone around her. Not only will she be missed by her immediate family and friends, she will be missed by her many friends at Parkview.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents Lillie and Theodore Machac, her loving husband for 58 years, Albert Kotara, two brothers, Richard and Frank Machac, two sisters, Ida Mae Keller and Rosie Lee Hommel, and grand-daughter, Kimberly Kotara.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Ann(a) Marie (Ernest) Moczygemba of Frisco, Texas, and Ray (Wanda) Kotara of Mansfield, Texas. She will also be greatly missed by her two grandchildren, Kevin Moczygemba and Eric (Sussann) Kotara, and three great-grandchildren, Nathaniel and Alexis Wood, and Elijah Kotara.

The family would like to express their appreciation and thanks to the staff at Traditions Health Hospice Care for their loving and compassionate care during the last sixteen months of Evelyn’s life. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Heart Association or St. Jude Children’s Hospital. (https://www.heart.org: (https://www.stjude.org).
