Elva Linda Brummett was born on March 7, 1928, and passed away peacefully at her home in McAllen, Texas, on May 27, 2025, at the age of 97. She was well-known for her long life and unwavering love. Elva was the daughter of Cruz Saenz and Ana Maria Soto, who were from Santa Ana Ranch in Starr County.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings: Noe Saenz, Luz Bella Saenz, Rachael Saenz, Ofelia Ramirez (Marcial), Renato Saenz (Rosie), and Jesus Saenz (Soila, who is still living), as well as Aaron Saenz (Obdulia) and her loving husband, Bobby Brummett.
Elva touched the lives of many with her kindness, warmth, and generosity. She was a beloved aunt to numerous nieces and nephews, including Cyndi Bujanda, Priscilla Lurz, Rosalinda Phillips, Rebecca Phillips, Rey Saenz, Ana Saenz Kiritsis, Kathryn Saenz Almaraz, Albert Saenz, Adrian Saenz, Celine Saenz, and Michael Saenz. Capturing her life in just a few words is difficult, as her impact on those around her was immeasurable. She frequently reminisced about the cherished memories of spending time with her family. Aunt Linda valued the phone calls she received from her nieces and nephews and always looked forward to those conversations. Although Aunt Linda did not have children of her own, she encouraged her nieces and nephews to pursue their education and strive for success in their professional careers as they grew up.
Aunt Linda was a remarkable woman whose passion and grace impacted many lives. She served as a source of wisdom and love, guiding her nieces and nephews as if they were her own children. With a wonderful sense of humor, she was a steady presence in the lives of her brothers' and sisters' children. Her passion for life and unwavering support for her family were evident in everything she did. Aunt Linda was also a gifted storyteller; her stories were not just entertaining tales but valuable lessons in living fully. She shared her experiences with humor, teaching the importance of embracing life, along with all its ups and downs. We honor her memory by living lives with the same enthusiasm and resilience she demonstrated every day for 97 years.
