Don Alan Long Obituary (1944 - 2022)

on Long, 78, of Mission passed away on Sunday, December 11th. Mr. Long was a devout husband, father, and grandfather and is survived by his wife, Cynthia Long; four children, Kenneth “K.C.” Long, Laura Long-Sahin, Beth Eckenrode, and Shannon Beck; three brothers Tim Long, Mike Long, and Scott Long; eight grandchildren, Addyson, Jackson, Sydney, Chloe, Lily, Audrey, David, Fletcher, and Owen.Don was a proud Veteran serving in the US Navy. He was a retired Physics and Math teacher and soccer coach. He helped many students over the years get to college and used this as a mission to help the youth in the Valley. Don was an avid Chess and Bridge player and enjoyed attending tournaments all over the state. He loved summer fishing trips to Canada with his family. A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held Saturday December 17th at 11am at Conway Baptist Church , 2215 N. Conway Ave in Mission. Funeral services are under the direction of Ric Brown Funeral Home in Mission, Texas.
