Dominga “Minga” Pardo Castilleja, born on December 20, 1941 in Edinburg, Texas, entered eternal rest surrounded by her family on January 20, 2024 . She married Joe Castilleja on November 26, 1961 and they raised 5 children together. Edna (Ralph) Dougherty, Nora (Jesse) Muniz, Joey Castilleja and Liana (Trini) Gonzalez. \nHer family seeks comfort in knowing she has now reunited with her husband, Joe and son, Eloy, who have gone before her.\nMinga was loved by many and will be remembered for her big heart. She deeply loved everyone and\nlived her life to the fullest, and enjoyed spending time with her many friends (comadres). Minga attended endless school events for her grandchildren showing her love and support as they each reached their own milestones. She is survived by her 4 children, 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.\n\nMinga was the guiding star for her family, and her radiant spirit will continue to shine in their hearts. As we bid farewell to our beloved, let us remember her not with tears of sorrow, but with smiles of gratitude for the love and joy she brought into our lives.\n\nWe welcome all who knew and loved Dominga to join us as we celebrate her life. The private closed casket service will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at 3:00 pm CST at the Brown Family Funeral Home. The receiving of friends will follow at 5:00 pm CST and a rosary will be held at 7:00 pm CST. A funeral mass is scheduled for Thursday, January 25, 2024, at 10:00 am CST at Our Lady of Sorrows Church. The burial of the cremains will take place on Friday, January 26, 2024, at 1:00 pm CST at the Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery.\n\nIn honor of Dominga's memory, we encourage all to share their memories, anecdotes, and upload photos of her on the memorial page.
