Carol Jon Zimmerman Obituary (1937 - 2025)

Carol Jon Bueker Zimmerman, born March 5,1937 was the first of two daughters born to John and Carolyn Bueker in Stuttgart, Arkansas. After graduating from Stuttgart High School in 1955, she attended Arkansas State Teacher's College where she was involved in the Delta Zeta Sorority. She married Ralph Zimmerman in December of 1957 and moved to the Rio Grande Valley in Texas where she began raising her family. Ralph and CJ moved to Mission in 1970 where she worked as the school secretary at Bryan Elementary until 1985 when she moved to Mims Elementary until her retirement in 1992. Upon retirement from MCISD, CJ became the secretary at First United Methodist Church, Mission where she had been an active member since 1970. Carol Jon was a woman with a strong faith and love for her family. She believed that everyone deserved the benefit of doubt in every situation. She died on July 27, 2025 at the age of 88 and will be deeply missed by her 4 children, 14 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren as well as all those with whom she interacted. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Ralph who died on June 30, 2025.
