Armandina H. Martinez

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Armandina H. Martinez, age 87, on Tuesday, September 15th at the Mission Regional Hospital. She passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Armandina (Mandi) Martinez was born on May 25, 1939. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband Jose A. Martinez; parents Julia C. Hernandez & Luis Hernandez; and 11 siblings. A Mission native and faithful Catholic, Armandina worked in the food service department at La Joya ISD for over 20 years. It was a role she took on with beaming pride every single day, up until her retirement. Armandina always cherished her home, family, and the life she lived, filled with endless amounts of laughter, luck, and love.

She is survived by her loving children, Jose Antonio Martinez Jr., Maria del Rosario (Guadalupe) Sotelo, Daniel (Ruby Ann) Martinez, Guillermo Martinez, Sylvia Martinez, Armando (Nilda) Martinez, and Jose Luis Martinez; along with 14 beloved grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren; and youngest brother, Carlos Hernandez.

Armandina Martinez’s light and memory will forever be cherished and deeply missed by those who loved and cared for her.

Visitation will be held at Brown Family Funeral Home, 701 East Interstate Highway 2, Mission, Texas, on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026, at 5:00pm CDT, with the Rosary at 7:00pm CDT. The Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mission, Texas, on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026, at 10:00am CDT, followed by the burial at Valley Memorial Gardens.
