Arlene Garcia, 68, born in McAllen, TX to the late Ignacio O. Garcia and Alicia Balli Garcia, passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2022 in San Antonio, TX. Arlene graduated from Hondo High School in 1972 and received her bachelor’s degree in social work from UTPA. She worked her entire life helping kids and families in her community. She loved her family and she loved to travel. Her family was her whole life. \n She is survived by her three children Leah Silva, Christopher (Gericca) Silva and Elizabeth Silva; her grandchildren Gabriel Sanchez, Eric Sanchez, Diego Daniel Cantu, Jared Silva, Hailey Silva, Anthony Silva and Damian Christopher Silva; seven brothers and sisters Ray Garcia, Lucy De la Garza, Sandy (Ben) Ramirez, Paul (Judy) Garcia, Nacho (Annette) Garcia, Iris Garcia and Amy Garcia. \n Visitation will be held on Friday, September 2, 2022 at 5:00pm at Ric Brown Family Funeral Home Chapel in Mission with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm. A memorial mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 3, 2022 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. The scattering of her ashes will take place at a later date.
