It is with tender hearts that we celebrate the life of a truly remarkable woman, Amalia Ramos Moreno, who graced this world with her presence on February 15, 1934, in Mexico and left us on January 3, 2024. Amalia, a woman of incredible generosity and boundless love, resided in Mission, Texas, and dedicated her life to her most cherished treasure, her family. A selfless caregiver, Amalia's life was a testament to the teachings of the Catholic faith. She was an embodiment of the verse from Acts 20:35, "It is more blessed to give than to receive."\n\nAmalia was a talented homemaker and a master of her craft. Her love for her family echoed through her cooking, and the warmth of her home was a reflection of her nurturing spirit. She was passionate about gardening, singing, and poetry, hobbies that added color to her vibrant life. Her garden was a sanctuary of beauty and serenity, her songs filled our hearts with joy, and her poetry painted pictures of love, hope, and faith. Amalia was indeed an inspiring force, and her legacy will continue to bloom in the hearts of her loved ones.\n\nAmalia was the beloved wife of the late Federico Moreno, and the cherished mother to Dalia Moreno Groh, Diana (Pete) De la Cruz, Rene (Norma) Moreno, Gracie (Filo) Castillo, and Raul (Christie) Moreno; 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Her spirit lives on in the hearts of her loving children and all those whose lives she touched. Amalia was predeceased by her parents, Agustin Ramos and Maria Antonia Manriquez; her children Sylvia Gutierrez, Rogelio Moreno, Roberto Moreno, and Ruben Moreno. Her life will be honored on Friday, January 5, 2024, at the Brown Family Funeral Home (Mission) from 4:00 pm CST for viewing, and at 7:00 pm CST for the rosary. The funeral mass will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at 10:00 am CST at Our Lady of Guadalupe Mission, followed by the burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery at 11:00 pm CST.\n\nWe invite you to share your fondest memories of Amalia and upload photos to her memorial page.
