MISSION – Rogelio Martinez, 63, passed away on Friday, March 25, 2016, at McAllen Medical Center. He was born on April 25, 1952 in McAllen, Texas.
He is preceded in death by his father, Roberto Martinez; brother, Roberto (Cruz) Martinez Jr.
He is survived by his wife, San Juanita Martinez; sons, Rogelio Lee and Gilbert Al; his two adorned grandchildren, Mia N. Martinez and Devin Martinez; mother, Antonia V. Martinez; brothers and sisters, Maria (Juan) Sanchez, Ruben (Rosie) Martinez, Lolie (Rafael) Fortuna, Pete (Alicia) Martinez, Domingo (Elsa) Martinez, Maria L. (Leo) Ordonez, Rachel Garcia, Sylvia (Juan†) Ocanas, Rosie (Martin) Perez, Jesse (Eva) Martinez, Janie M. (Rene) Salinas and Gloria (Manny) Lopez.
Rogelio was known to be a hardworking man, full of life and a fighter till the end. He enjoyed collecting antiques from Chinese dolls to furniture. He also enjoyed tending his garden and playing cards. He will be dearly missed as a husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother.
Viewing will be from 1 to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary on Monday, March 28, 2016, at Ric Brown Family Funeral Home in Mission. Funeral service will be at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission. Cremation will follow.
