Obituary – Sarah Goffnett

December 30, 2016

MISSION – Sarah Goffnett, 90, of Mission, Texas died at Comfort House, in McAllen, on December 30, 2016. Sarah was met at heaven’s gate by her loving husband of 65 years Cecil Goffnett. She was born on June 5, 1926 in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, the daughter of the late John and Eva Moore. Sarah retired from Mt. Pleasant Regional Center in 1979. Sarah and Cecil frequently visited the Rio Grande Valley, in Texas for years before deciding to move there permanently in November of 1979. Sarah is survived by her children John (Cindy) Goffnett, Gary (Judy) Goffnett, Barb (Harold) Elliott and Aimee (Don) Severson. She is also survived by her grandchildren Janelle and Jocob, Gary Lee and Patty, Janice and Harold Jr., and Lisa, Nicole and Heather; 20 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; all her nieces and nephews and sister in-law, Gayla (Bruce) Heilbronn. Mrs. Goffnett was preceded in death by her husband Cecil Goffnett; son in-law Glen Hankins; grandson John Goffnett; great grandson Baldemar Villarreal; parents John and Eva Moore and 9 siblings. Sarah’s life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, she was loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure. Our mother taught us everything except how to live without her…her memory will forever live in our hearts. Sarah’s ashes will be put to rest with her beloved husband Cecil at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission, Texas. In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations made to:
