MCALLEN – Sandra Sprayberry Scott, 72, passed away on January 25, 2017, in McAllen. She was a 1961 graduate of Mission High School, later she excelled at Business College. Sandra was a Texas tornado mixed with the grace and beauty of a Southern Belle. She led by example and taught us all the importance of loving life, animals, and adventure. She was an entrepreneur, owning and operating a ladies clothing store named Rare Exceptions. A few of her hobbies were reading, traveling, and shopping. Everyone that knew her will remember her love of being a hostess, she touched the lives of so many people and always knew how to light up a room.
She was preceded in death by her father Houston Sprayberry.
Sandra is survived by her daughter Sandra Shea Scott of Palmhurst; mother Hazel Sprayberry of McAllen; sister Judith (Eddie) Bryant of El Paso. She is also survived by the father of her child Homer Scott, as well as by her nieces Jillian Bryant (Michael) Dewey and Jordan Bryant.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 29, 2017, from 4-7pm at Ric Brown Family Funeral Home in Mission. A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 30, 2017, at 10am at Ric Brown Family Funeral Home Chapel in Mission. Entombment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery-Mausoleum.
