MISSION – Rolando Torres, 73, longtime resident of Mission, passed away peacefully at his home on June 9, 2017. He was born on August 20, 1943, in Mission. He worked many years at Campbell Lumber Co. and for the City of Mission as a crew leader and backhoe operator. He is preceded in death by his mother, Guadalupe Torres; and his brother, Rene DeAnda. Rolando is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Jesusita G. Torres; his four children, Rosie (Javier) Ruiz of Mission, Rolando, Jr, of Austin, Roy (Gracie) of Mission, and Rose (Tony) Morales of Temple; two grandchildren, Steven and Andrew Ruiz; two sisters, Amelia Sifuentes and Lupi Ingles of Sanger, CA.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary Monday, June 12, 2017, at Rivera Funeral Home, 1813 N. Conway Ave., Mission. Funeral mass will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Mission. Burial will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Mission.
Pallbearers will be Rolando Torres, Jr., Roy Torres, Javier Ruiz, Tony Morales, Steven Ruiz, and Robert Sifuentes.
