Obituary – Roberto Bazan Jr.

January 30

MISSION-PALMVIEW – Well done, thou good and faithful servant….Enter thou into the joy of thy Lord. Matthew 25:21
Beto “Betito”, as he was affectionately known to many, entered eternal rest on Friday, January 26, 2018 at his home in Palmview, Texas surrounded by his family. He was born on September 3, 1949 in McAllen, Texas to the late Roberto “Beto” and Enedina “Chele” Bazan. He is preceded in death by his parents Beto and Chele, his maternal grandparents Leandro and Alejandra Garza his paternal grandparents Nicasio and Adela Bazan as well as numerous aunts and uncles.
Left to cherish his memories are his children Roberto (Priscilla) Bazan III of Mission, Texas, Rita E. Bazan of Palmview and Ruben Reyes (Lisa) Bazan of McAllen, Texas; four grandsons Roberto Bazan IV, Ryan, Riley and Rylan Bazan; his sisters Adela (Juan) Pena, Adelina Alaniz, Connie (Sergio) Munoz of Palmview, Texas; aunt Brijida Bazan Trevino; nieces and nephews Gerardo Manuel Alaniz, Selina Alaniz, J.J. (Melissa) Pena, Marla (Jaime) Lopez, and Sergio (Maria Elana) Munoz Jr.; as well as his companion and caregiver Martha Villamil.
Beto was a caring, quiet, kind and humble man who enjoyed the outdoors, horseback riding, bailing, hunting but his greatest joy was spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all those whose lives he touched.
A special thanks to his friends, Dr. Gummadi and staff, Dr. Mariano Salinas, Dr. Alberto Pena, nurses Christy, Dora, Tayna, Janie, Michelle, and Marcy, as well as all the staff at the Cancer Center at DHR in Edinburg, Texas; Veterans Administration and the residents of Seldom Rest R.V. Park for your prayers and kind words, visits and always being ready to help. All of you were an inspiration and helped him through his journey. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to Hosanna Health Care, St. Joseph Hospice (Flor, Ginni, Danny, Jose Angel, Graciano).
His family will receive family and friends on Monday, January 29, 2018, from 3-9pm with a 7pm rosary at Ric Brown Family Funeral Home in Mission. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at 2pm at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission. Burial will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Ric Brown Family Funeral Home in Mission.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jack Lester, Joe McLaughlin, Edelmiro Garcia, Lalo Villarreal, Hector Gandaria, Juan Carlos Salinas, Juan Pablo Trevino, Javier Trevino, Gerardo Alaniz, J.J. Pena, Sergio Munoz Jr., Jaime Lopez, and Rey Garza.
