MISSION – 1957-2018: Philip W. Rivera passed away on January 3, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in McAllen, Texas on September 18, 1957 to Tomas Rivera and Darleen Rivera-Spruell (deceased).
Building on what his father began, Philip owned and operated a successful family business, Rivera’s Machinery. Philip was grateful for the support of his employees and customers.
Philip is survived by his beloved wife Linda (Halstead); his children Philip Andrew (Elizabeth) of Nashville, TN; Matthew of Dallas, TX; Aaron of Houston, TX; and Thomas of Mission, TX. He is also survived by his brother, Alan, his sister, Laurie, and the Rivera Machinery Family. He was predeceased by his son Justin Michael.
Philip was a devoted attendee of Palm Valley Church. Private memorial services were held Friday the 5th at Palm Valley Church in Mission. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Carcinoid Cancer Foundation (https://carcinoid.kindful.com ). Services are under the direction of Ric Brown Family Funeral Home of Mission.
