Obituary – Pauline Longwell

May 1

MISSION – Pauline Longwell went home to her Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 27, 2017. She was born in Eaton Rapids, Michigan July 1, 1925 to Susan and Irving Wildt. She was the last surviving sibling of six brothers and sisters. Pauline was married for 58 years. They had three children, Suzanne(Bruce)Gray, Lorraine Longwell and Darrell Longwell. She had seven grandchildren: Von(Allison)Gray, Ryan(Sarah)Gray, Landon Gray, Tiffany(David)Thorne, Jeff(Susan)Espensen, Crystal(Sergio)Reyes and Robbie Longwell. She was loved by 17 great grandchildren. Pauline was active in many organizations. She was a life member and Past Worthy Matron of the Mission Order of the Eastern Star, a member of the Past Matron’s Club and was a past Mother Advisor for the Rainbow Girls of Mission. Pauline was a charter member of the Busy Bee Home Demonstration Club where she was a member for over 50 years and served as president many times. She also served as a President of the Federation of Womens Clubs and was a member of the Past President’s Club. Pauline was a member of the Friday Book Review and a member of the Sharyland Chatter Chums. This was a group of women from the founding farm families in the Sharyland area that would meet once a month. This dear group of women met for over 50 years and were always there for one another. Pauline was also a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mission. She helped with the children’s nursery and Bible School for many years. Pauline will always be remembered for her selfless love of family. She loved to host the entire Longwell family for the holidays and was a fabulous cook. She was well known for her strawberry and rum chiffon pies. Everyone was always asking her for recipes, so she published her favorite recipes in a cookbook for her family and friends. Everyone was always welcome into her warm, caring home and on any holiday there would always be friends invited that would otherwise be alone. She is loved… A graveside memorial service will be held at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Mission on Saturday, May 1, at 10:30 a.m. Services are under the direction of Ric Brown Family Funeral Home of Mission.
