MISSION – Oscar Omar Garza Sr., 62, entered into eternal life on Thursday, March 1, 2018 in Mission. Oscar had been enjoying his glorious retirement the last 11 years doing what he loves the most, spending time with his family and building various things. Oscar graduated in the Sharyland High School, Class of 1974. Survivors include his wife of 41 years Alicia V. Garza, daughter Michelle Lee Garza both of Mission and son Oscar Omar (Lorrie) Garza Jr. of San Antonio; grandchildren Christopher & Andrew Lopez, Nathan & Isabella Garza and Kaylee Rodriguez; mother Ester Garza; 2 brothers, Olivero (Sylvia) Garza III of San Antonio, Jaime Garza (Elizabeth) of Edinburg; 2 sisters Norma Vela of Mission, Thelma (Julio) Garcia of Palmhurst and many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be his brother Jaime Garza; brother in laws Julio Garcia, Tony Rodriguez, Jose Villanueva, Pablo Villescas, Gene Villanueva, Eli Villanueva; nephew Michael Rodriguez; and friends Margarito Salazar, Roberto Olvera. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons, Christopher Lopez, Andrew Lopez and Nathan Garza. Oscar is preceded in death by his father Olivero A Garza Jr. in 1996. Visitation will be held on Sunday March 4, 2018 from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a rosary 7 p.m. at Ric Brown Family Funeral Home at 520 Ash Ave., Mcallen, TX. Funeral Mass will be at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, officiated by Father Roy Snipes at 11:30am on Monday March 5, 2018. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in McAllen on Taylor Rd. Funeral services are under the direction of Ric Brown Family Funeral Home in Mission.
