Obituary – Lucrecio Flores Jr.

July 5

PALMVIEW – Lucrecio Flores Jr., passed away on July 2, 2017, at his residence in Palmview. Mr. Flores served in the U.S. Army and served La Joya School Board for over 20 years. He was a long time community and public servant. He was always an advocate for children, and believed that every student could succeed w the assistance of the local community. He was always willing to help, and would stress the importance of a college education. He was also a sports fanatic, a member of the La Joya Quarterback Club, and would never miss a game. He would support his coyotes, which would later become “The Pack”. Mr. Flores never missed a game until his illness no longer allowed him to attend. He is survived by his daughters Pamela Flores, Monica Flores; Son Lucrecio Flores III; as well as by grandchildren Natali F. (Miguel Angel Martinez) Gonzalez, Naila Marie Flores, and Gabrielle Regina Torres.Serving as pallbearers will be Ramon Or’z, Esequiel “Jr” Or’z, Billy Langley, Abelardo “Leno” Mireles, Sergio Briones, Alberto “Beto” Briones, and honorary pallbearers will be Lucrecio Flores III, Miguel Angel Martinez.Viewing will be held on Tuesday, July 4, 2017, 5-9 pm with a 7 pm rosary at Ric Brown Family Funeral Home in Mission. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2017, at 9:30 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission. Burial will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission. Services are under the direction of Ric Brown Family Funeral Home in Mission
