Obituary – Hortencia P. Saenz

October 27, 2017

Hortencia P. Saenz, 86, was given her angel wings on Monday, October 23, 2017, in Laredo, Texas, surrounded by loved ones that touched her throughout her memorable life.
Hortencia never gave up, never complained, and always focused on others. She was passionate about living a life that pointed straight to her Savior and illustrated the greatest characteristics of faith, hope, and love to everyone that knew her.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Guadalupe Saenz and her son Mario Luis Saenz.
Left to cherish her memories is her daughter Cynthia(Jorge) Garza of Laredo, and grandkids, Ivar (Liz) Garza of Laredo, Silena (Rigo) Navarro of San Antonio, Marilda (Orlando) Gonzalez of Edinburg, Alyssa Saenz of McAllen, Mario G. Saenz, great-grandkids, Kylie Garza, Kody Garza, Aralynn Navarro, Zeniah Gonzalez, Dahlia Gonzalez, Gael Benavides, sister Dominga P. Alvarez, sister-in-law Rosita Saenz and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to give thanks to her caregiver, Irene De la Rosa, and to Altus Hospice staff members of Laredo, Texas for being there in her time of need.
Pallbearers will be: Ivar Garza, Rigo Navarro, Orlando Gonzalez, Fermin Perez, Jorge Alvarez Jr., and Ramon Alvarez II.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Jorge Garza, Jorge Alvarez, Kody Garza, Gael Benavides, Edmanuel Perez, and Jose Alfredo Perez.
The family will receive guests Friday, October 27, 2017, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Ric Brown Family Funeral Home, 621 E. Griffin Pkwy. Mission, Texas. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm.
Funeral service will be Saturday, October 28, 2017, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission, Texas. Funeral mass will start at 8:50 am. Committal services will follow in the Domingo Alvarez Cemetery on FM 755.
“I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” (2 Tim. 4:7) Services are under the direction of Ric Brown Family Funeral Home of Mission.

    I have met a lady like Hortencia. She walked the talk and was a very inspiring women. Many of us looked up to her. My heart is sad but know she is dancing away in heaven with her husband.
