MISSION – Hortencia O. Zamora passed away on April 14, 2017. She was born March 23, 1925 in San Isidro, Texas where she graduated from San Isidro High School in 1944 as Valedictorian of her class. She is preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Dennis Zamora Sr., her sons Dennis Zamora Jr., Javier, her parents Luis and Macaria Olivarez, her brothers Dario, Alfredo, and Luis Olivarez, Jr., her sisters Lydia O. Hinojosa and Elfida O. Casas.
She is survived by her children Omar (Tina) Zamora, Linda Z. Castaneda, Jaime Zamora, and Haydee Zamora. Hortencia is also survived by her grandchildren Robert (Norma) Castaneda Jr., and Roxanna C. (Ben Jr.) Cortez, David (Melody) Zamora and Annett Zamora, as well as by 9 great grandchildren, also her sisters Olivia O. Rodriguez, Jovita O. Rutledge, and Ernestina O. Guerra.
Hortencia was a loving, caring and devoted wife, mother, sister and friend. She was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, a lifetime member of the Mission Historical Museum, and a supporter of the American Cancer Society. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 17, 2017, from 1-9 pm with a 7pm rosary at Ric Brown Family Funeral Home in Mission. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at 10 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission. Burial will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Mission.
Services are under the direction of Ric Brown Family Funeral Home in Mission.
