Obituary – Homer Harrison Scott

June 28

MISSION – Homer Harrison Scott, 77 entered eternal rest on June 28, 2018. He was born and raised in Mission, TX, the son of LaNell Brown Scott and Bill Scott. He attended Texas Christian University and Pan American, and also served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Alaska. He had an extensive career as a businessman, property developer and investor.His companies, Irrigation Construction and Idela Construction, completed many public improvement projects in the Valley, Houston and San Antonio.He operated The 5125 Company with business partner and friend Pat Espericueta. He was also on the Board of Directors of First National Bank of Edinburg.
Homer was active in the community and supported many civic and charitable organizations. He Served on the Board of Regents of Pan American University at the time of the merger with the UT System.
He was a steadfast supporter of the Livestock Show, purchasing many championship animals through the years. He was also a generous and loving friend, helping many individuals directly.
Homer enjoyed reading and studying history and particularly enjoyed keeping up with his fellow Missionites through The Golden Age of Eagles Magazine.
He will be missed by his family and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Carrie Scott Eby (Roe) and second wife, Sandra Sprayberry Scott.
He is survived by his first wife, Lorraine Neubauer, three children; Janet (James) McRae, Steve Scott, and Shea (Taylor) Maupin, four grandchildren; Shanda (Corey) Kutej, Michael Neubauer, Steven Blake Scott, Kathryn Scott and one great grandchild, Kimber Kutej. No funeral or memorial services are planned at this time. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to The Golden Age of Eagles Magazine. Cremation services were entrusted to Ric Brown Family Funeral Home of Mission.
