Obituary – Genaro “Kenny” Zuniga

July 14

WESLACO – Genaro “Kenny” Zuniga, 75, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, July 11, 2017, surrounded by his loving family at his son’s residence in Weslaco.Born in McAllen, Kenny lived in Weslaco all of his life. He joined the United States Army at a young age. Shortly after honorable discharge, he married the love of his life, his wife Viola. Kenny worked in the banking industry for 13 years. He then moved on to become warehouse manager for Weslaco ISD for 25 years, from which he retired. Kenny had a huge heart for his family and his community and he was also an avid Cowboys fan. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.He is preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Helen Zuniga; his parents, Bonifacio and Elena S. Zuniga; a brother, Thomas Zuniga; and a sister, Maria Concepcion Zuniga.Kenny is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Viola Zuniga; two children, Kenny Zuniga and Norma Zuniga; six granddaughters, Mary Helen Zuniga, Addison Taylor Zuniga, Kendra Elizabeth Zuniga, Julia Faith Zuniga, Concepcion Estella Perez and Robyn Nicole Perez; and four siblings.Visitation will be held from 2 to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary today, July 13, 2017, at McCaleb Funeral Home in Weslaco. Funeral mass will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, July 14, 2017, at San Martin De Porres Catholic Church in Weslaco. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ric Brown Family Funeral Home of Mission.
