Obituary – Gavina Ivarra

September 26, 2018

PALMVIEW – Gavina Ivarra, 91, passed away on Sunday, September 23, 2018. She was born on February 19, 1927 to Jose and Felipa Mata but was lovingly raised by her stepmother, Sara Mata.
She is preceded in death by her siblings Santos ,Florencio, Juan, Abundio and sisters Epifamia Mata and Virginia Fuentes. She is survived by Manuel (Mireya) Ivarra, Jesus Antonio Ivarrra and Jose Ivarra. She was loved by 16 grandchildren and over 100 great grandchildren that reached into the fourth family generation. She is also survived by one brother, Ceasar Mata and numerous nephews and nieces.
Visitation services will be held Wednesday, September 26, 2018 from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary at Ric Brown Family Funeral Home in Mission. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at St. Joseph the Worker in Mcallen. Burial will follow at La Piedad Cemetery in McAllen. Ric Brown Family Funeral Home of Mission is in charge of arrangements.

    My grandma was the best. I look forward to seeing her in the resurrection. She’s only in a deep sleep. Was great when she would come see us in Idaho and I loved going to Texas to visit her and my dad
    uncle and rest of the family.
