Obituary – Enedina Lozano Trevino

August 18, 2018

PROGRESO/MISSION – Enedina Lozano Trevino, 83, a longtime resident of Progreso, Texas, and later Mission, Texas, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, August 15, 2018.
She was born to Joaquin Lozano and Jesusa Garza on August 31, 1934, in Weslaco, Texas. She lived most of her life with her husband, Pedro (“Pete”). Along with Pedro, she operated Pete’s Grocery in Progreso for many years. She most enjoyed being with and caring for her family and traveling, mostly to Las Vegas with her husband.
Enedina will be most remembered for being a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother, as well as for her strength in working alongside her husband to create a family business that thrived for years. She possessed a wisdom and knowledge about life that enabled her to find success as a mother and in her business endeavors far beyond the scope of her modest education. Enedina will always be remembered for the love that she showered upon all those in her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and for her love of travel and seeing new and beautiful places. Enedina will be greatly missed by her daughters, Gloria Trevino Butler (Charles Eugene Butler) and Susie Mendez (Raul Mendez); her grandchildren Pedro Oliva (Paula Oliva), Amanda Mendez, and Alexis Mendez (Ryoko Minowa); and her great-grandchildren Maryn Dina Oliva, and Mason Dean Oliva. Graveside services will be held Saturday, August 18, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Highland Memorial Cemetery of Weslaco. Ric Brown Family Funeral Home of Mission is in charge of arrangements.
