Obituary – Emma Borrego

October 13

MISSION – Emma Borrego passed away on Friday, October 6, 2017 in Mission, TX. Surrounded by loved ones. Emma was born on March 15, 1935 in Edinburg, TX to Emilio and Rosita (Amador) Rodriguez. Emma was a hard working woman and lived a beautiful happy life. She enjoyed working on her garden and was an animal lover always taking in strays. Emma is survived by her children; Armandina (Rick) Bootsma, Lydia (Jesse) Chavez, Yolanda Rodriguez, Carmina Borrego all from Sunnyside, WA. Diana (Alfredo) Borrego, Elva (Agustine) Benavides, Rolando Borrego, Noel (Inez) Borrego, Alma Borrego, Elizabeth (Angel) Ochoa, all from Mission, TX. She is also survived by one sister, Stella Rubalcava, two brothers, Emilio Rodriguez Jr. and Rene (Anita) Rodriguez, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Emma was preceded in death by her husband, Abel Borrego Sr., parents; Emilio and Rosita Rodriguez, son, Abel Borrego Jr., sister, Ninfa Rodriguez, and grandson, Jesse Chavez Jr.
Visitation will be held Thursday October 12, 2017 from 1:00 to 9:00 pm with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 pm at Ric Brown Family Funeral Home Chapel in Mission, TX. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held Friday, October 13, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission TX. Burial will follow at San Jose Cemetery in Mission, TX.

    I will forever hold her close to my heart.. She was like a mother to me when I was growing up with her daughter Elizabeth. She was such a kind hearted person with not a mean bone in her body. May she RIP
    My condolences to all her family and my dear friends, MAy god give you all the strength to move along . I will always remember her beautiful smile.. 🙂
