LEANDER/MISSION – Diana Arteaga passed away on Friday, October 20th at the age of 58. She was married to Baldemar Arteaga for 35 years and a dedicated mother to 4 children: Andrea, Joshua, Mariana, and Elizabeth. 5 grandchildren also survive her.
Diana was a devout Catholic woman who had a special devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary and loved to pray the rosary with her family. She dedicated her work to serving the poor and defending life as a family nurse practitioner and was a walking saint on earth to all who knew her. She graduated from Mission High School in 1977 then graduated from the University of Texas with a bachelor’s degree in nursing in 1981. In 2004 she completed her education and received a masters degree. Diana’s dedication to her family and service work will continue through her legacy. She will rest in heaven and continue to guide us in spirit. Visitation will be held today, Tuesday, October 24 from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary at Ric Brown Family Funeral Home of Mission. Funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 25 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission. Burial will follow at San Jose Cemetery in Mission. Services are under the direction of Ric Brown Family Funeral Home of Mission.
