Obituary – Dell Hausbeck
MISSION – Minnie Dell Adams Hausbeck, 91, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, January 31, 2018 in Mission, TX after a series of illnesses. Dell was born January 3, 1927 to Earl & Ethel Adams in Cordell, OK. She was the second to youngest of 6 children. She graduated from Burns Flat High School in 1944.
In 1945 Dell married Irvin Lee King of Cordell, OK where they had one son. They then moved to San Antonio, TX where they had a daughter. In 1969 the family moved to Midland, TX where they started their own business “King’s Plaster Gallery”. After their divorce, Dell went to work at the Midland Reporter Telegram in the advertisement department. After 2-3 years at the MRT, she hired on with Cities Service Oil and Gas Company as a computer operator where she retired in 1981.
Then in 1982 Dell met the love of her life, Paul James Hausbeck Sr. from Michigan. Together they lived in Midland, Alpine and New Braunfels. While in New Braunfels, Dell was instrumental in saving Paul’s life and their marriage by introducing him to AA and he has been sober ever since. From Texas they relocated to Dell’s home town of Cordell, OK where they started a successful small engine repair business “P&D Enterprises”. After 10 years, they finally settled in Mission, to care for Paul’s aging parents Paul & Jeanne Hausbeck, also of Michigan.
Dell was an avid seamstress, sowing her children’s clothes, costumes for her son’s High School plays and custom robes & dresses for clients. She was a Den Mother for her sons Cub Scout Den and supported everything her children were involved in. She also loved flower gardening.
Dell is survived by her husband of 36 years Paul, son Rick (Susan) King of Midland, TX; daughter Renee (Randy) Rogers of Houston, TX; sister Wanita (James) Hendrix of Burns Flat, OK, step sons Mark (Julie) Seige, P.J. (Juanita) Hausbeck and Gregory ( Rose) Hausbeck all of Saginaw, MI; three granddaughters, Laura (Dan) Boyd of San Antonio, TX, Erin King (Rob) Ross of Boulder, CO and Kylie (Jody) Garcia of Midland, TX and numerous other grandchildren in Michigan.
Viewing will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2018 from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7 p.m. at Ric Brown Family Funeral Home in Mission.
