She was born in April 19, 1950 in Diaz Ordaz, Mexico, to Anita and Alberto Sr. Mendoza. During her younger years she migrated with her family to work in the fields where she met the father of her children Juan Pablo Ramirez “La Cuca” in Hoopeston, IL. She loved to play bingo, slot machines, and poker. She was a self-taught seamstress. She had a big heart and always helped others. She cared for her parents, grandchildren, and her husband during his illness. Alicia will always be remembered by her daughter as “Mi Reyna”, “My Queen”, and “Mi Guerrera”. She always accepted life’s challenges and struggles with a positive attitude and a determination that everything had a solution, things are not as complicated as they appeared to be.
