Obituary – Alberto R. O’cana

September 30, 2018

MISSION – Alberto R. O’cana, age 69, passed away on September 23, 2018, at the Methodist Specialty Hospital in San Antonio. He was a proud veteran, and dedicated his life to serving other veterans in the community. His grandchildren were his biggest joy and he was always their biggest fan. He had a great sense of humor and brought joy to those around him.
He was preceded in death by parents Antonio and Apolonia O’cana Sr.
Alberto is survived by children Alberto (Cynthia Garza) O’cana Jr., Erica O’cana (Filemon Hiram) Alcazar, Edgar (Amanda C. Gutierrez) O’Cana; grandchildren Bianca Jasso, Joseph O’cana, Steven O’cana, Joaquin A. O’cana, Luis Andres O’cana, Hiram Alberto Alcazar, Quentin Torres, Dakota Logan O’cana; great grandson Timothy Jai O’cana. He is also survived by his siblings Antonio (Cora) O’cana Jr., Tomas (Virginia) O’cana, Jorge (Lupita) O’cana, Ramiro O’cana, Armando (Maria de Jesus) O’cana; as well as by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 30, 2018 from 1-9 with a 7pm rosary at Ric Brown Family Funeral Home in Mission. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, October 1, 2018, at 11:30am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission. Burial will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Ric Brown Family Funeral Home in Mission.
