Obituary – Aidina “Dina” Barrera

July 13, 2017

MCALLEN – Aidina “Dina” Alaniz Barrera, 84, passed away on July 10, 2017, at the Comfort House in McAllen. Dina was born and raised in Starr County, Texas. She was a long standing property manager of La Vista Mobile Park in McAllen. She was a proud Air Force wife, and was able to travel frequently, she enjoyed spending her time playing bingo at El Bingo Grande.
She was preceded in death by her parents Aristobal and Consuelo Alaniz; brothers Avero Alaniz and Abel Alaniz.
Dina is survived by her husband, of 40 years, Francisco Barrera of McAllen, her children Anna Marie (Edelberto) Hernandez of McAllen, Lily (Nestor) Santana of McAllen, Frances L. (Jason) De La Rosa of McAllen; siblings Aristobal Alaniz, Adiola Corpus, Aida Vitolka; as well as by her grandchildren Dina Inch, Michael Valdez, Matthew Valdez, Vanessa Garcia, Yulissa Santana, Deidra De La Rosa, and Nathan De La Rosa. She is also survived by her 8 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 from 1-9pm with a 7pm rosary at Ric Brown Family Funeral Home in Mission. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2017, at 12 noon at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission. Burial will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in McAllen.
Services are under the direction of Ric Brown Family Funeral Home in Mission.
