SAN ISIDRO – Norma O. Juarez, 64, a lifelong resident of San Isidro, TX passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at North Central Baptist Hospital in San Antonio, TX after a short illness. She was born in Rio Grande City, TX and is preceded in death by her parents Heralio and Hilda Olivarez.
Upon graduating as the 1970 Valedictorian of San Isidro High School she attended Texas A & I University in Kingsville, TX and earned her B.S. degree in teaching in 1973. She began her teaching career for the San Isidro Independent School District for 42 ½ years until her death. She was very active in supporting all school activities “Go Tigers” from sports, to UIL and any other functions that would help her beloved school and community. She will be sadly missed by students, faculty and friends.
She is survived by her daughters Nori O. Juarez of Lubbock, TX, Denise (Jason) McCullom of San Antonio, TX; two grandsons Omar Luis Olivarez and Owen McCullom. Survivors also include her brother Orlando (Anna) Olivarez of Mission, TX and two nephews Orlando Jr., and Rene Olivarez both of Mission.
Viewing will be held Saturday, January 2, 2016, from 3-9 with a 7pm rosary at Ric Brown Family Funeral Home in Mission. Burial of cremation remains will be held at a later date.
